I'm a well read grad student who's bluntly honest about all things, although I try to be most honest about myself.
You can't do much when you're hobbled by a poor script, but Sam looked nothing like he did in the movie - nor did his parents, Lennox, Mikaela, or anyone else human. The bots fared a little better as they occasionally looked like they were supposed to in the movies.
But between a poor script, and the knowledge that Mudflap and Skids were way more offensive as portrayed in the movie, I couldn't really get into this. In fact, I wouldn't suggest reading this unless you really, really like Revenge of the Fallen.
And I'd probably suggest you read the Covenant of Primus instead. The Fallen looks more awesome in that one, and actually gets fleshed out instead of barely being seen, in addition to just spouting out some cliched super-villain lines.
On the other hand, Tony Todd voices the Fallen. Nom, nom, nom. (I do prefer his run on Transformers Prime as Dreadwing, but he does make RotF bearable! And I'll forever hear him whenever I think about the Fallen or read about him.)
