I'm a well read grad student who's bluntly honest about all things, although I try to be most honest about myself.
This brings back specific characters - the Romulan Spock seduced for information and Kor most notably - and uses two story arcs which are tied together at the end. The Enterprise is fit with a clocking device, although it's trial run is a bit bumpy. See, everyone is getting phased out of this phase, from what I gather, and sort of seem to appear as ghosts.
In the first arc - the first two books - Kirk has to bring his people back to the existence they're used to, while also fighting off the Romulans.
In the second arc - the third to fifth book - the Klingons come into play as the Organian treaty no longer seems to be in play.
And it's the fifth book that ties everything together, really, while mostly tied to the Klingon story. It's the last couple of pages that wraps everything up with a nice, neat bow. Quite frankly, I wasn't expecting the story lines to tie together until about then.
The art is dynamic, and very realistic - the characters look like the actors who played them. Brilliant stuff!
