I'm a well read grad student who's bluntly honest about all things, although I try to be most honest about myself.
The first story was odd: classic, but it looks like season one Kirk post Spock's death in the movies. It also was only a decent story, and quite frankly, not very memorable.
I had higher hopes for the second story, which was written by two authors I like very much. It was from the Kligon's point of view during events that took place during TOS, the seasons mostly. For something that had such a chance to look at a different way of life, a different culture, it was sadly not very explorative of those differences.
So, all in all, while good while I was reading? It didn't really stay with me.
