I'm a well read grad student who's bluntly honest about all things, although I try to be most honest about myself.
The Champions find The Hulk kissing Viv and she matter-of-factly stomps on his heart by saying she wasn't that affected by his kiss. Maybe a different gender, she wonders. I'm glad to see the writers keeping her a little flexible; she shouldn't be constrained by what people think she's supposed to be, and she's driven by curiosity about her own body and her own sexuality even.
I'st a line that's thrown out there, but I think there's so much more to it than that simple concept.
Also, she finds a group of women looking for help. They're being attacked for getting an education after extremists come in and say that it's against their religion. It's relevant and timely and the women don't accept The Champions fighting on their behalf They want to fight back and show the world they're not going to be cowed by these men. Anything else, and they'll be left in danger. If they allow others to fight on their behalf, what happens when The Champions leave?
So the teen heroes give the help they can to allow the women to take charge of their own lives and future. It's a powerful message, and it had me in tears with how lovely it was at the end.
I'm also pretty sure that Hulk is truly crushed by Viv's rejection of him. If he likes Viv? I might have to start liking him for that fact alone.
