I'm a well read grad student who's bluntly honest about all things, although I try to be most honest about myself.
Adorable killing machine kitties! Well, they are here: tigers are targeting people who work in tech startups. Of course, this is in Burnside, some of them have connections to Babs, and Batgirl gets involved. How can she not?
At the same time, her ex-roomie is marrying the woman who proposed to her. I think this might be to counter the LGBTQI concerns over Batwoman not being allowed to marry her girlfriend, while Northstar was marrying the man he loved. DC said that no superheroes should be married, because happy, and no.
They didn't want happy heroes. Meanwhile, marriage didn't work out for Cyclops and Phoenix, so marriage=happiness is faulty. Also, Deadpool became a more interesting hero when he found the bliss of fatherhood, so it seems myopic to say that happiness can't work for in a comic. They do have a lesbian wedding, which I feel might be a late way of appeasing the concerns, although quite frankly I have my doubts. This seems a bit delayed to be that kind of tactic.
Regardless, I loved it - not because it might be a statement or not, but because the characters were obviously in love. (I have a small backlog of reviews; this becomes more obvious in future issues.)
Cute, fun, and I am just loving this series the more I read this series.
