Grimlock ♥ Ultra Magnus

I'm a well read grad student who's bluntly honest about all things, although I try to be most honest about myself.

Excellent adaptation overall

Transformers: Prime - Beast Hunters, Welcome to Darkmount - Various Various

These are just the series, and pretty much stick to the script.   Which is excellent.   I loved this series for a reason: it was smart, and funny, and had a lot of psychological depth without being too scary for children.   It was, in my opinion, the best Transformers TV series put out bar none, at least at this point in time.

Being able to read this series is a pleasure for me, like the Irvine novelizations of the MCU movie.   It's just nice to have the series or movies in another medium, and you guys know how much I love comics and graphic novels.

This is the introduction to season three of Prime which was called Transformers Prime Beast Hunters.  The Decepticons seem to have the upper hand, with the Autobots scattered.   Megatron has also taken over Jasper, Nevada and turned it into his home base, Darkmount.   Then Knock Out retrieves Shockwave for him, and things get even more dire for the Autobots with a beast hunter: a Predacon - think robot dragon as Miko points out - who is an Autobot hunter.

It was a dark time, one of the darkest for the Autobots.   And I loved every minute of them gathering their own resources and fighting back.

That being said, I had some issues.   This being in comic format reminded me of how dark this series was, not in theme or tone, but just visually.

The sound effect words were just odd: usually in comics they're integrated into the art or subtle.   These were loud and garish and didn't fit with the graphics at all.

There were occasional typos.   Optimus Prime takes care on Vehicons instead of takes care of them.   And this, which made me laugh out loud a little:

I assure you, Ultra Magnus said report not repoat.   I don't even know what a repoat is...   It was jarring, as were the sound effects, but not so much that I didn't truly enjoy this.   It wouldn't take that much work - a quick proofread and some smoothing out of the effects - for this to be a five star read, but it was not one as currently presented.
