Grimlock ♥ Ultra Magnus

There's arguably a little more gore, but I didn't think it was that extreme compared to the other Punisher titles.   I have a feeling that this was just an excuse to use the word 'cunt' again and again without censoring.   

Which is fine.   I was just expecting something more from a MAX title.   This wasn't bad, and it felt like a pretty typical Punisher story - which again isn't bad.   I like Punisher books, and I read them because I know to expect that he'll go after the bad guys with a vengeance.   No mercy, and lots of blood spilt, are two other expectations.   

The MAX titles were a reason to go balls out, at least as far as I understood it.   As someone pointed out with Wolverine MAX, they didn't go that far.   Certainly they didn't make it as violent as they could have, they didn't have anyone naked or even really any sexual situations.   (Nothing that stuck out in my mind so they were mild if they were there at all.)

This suffers from the same: a lot of swearing, but nothing much more beyond that.   Sometimes expectations help a story: I want something, and I get it.    In this case, they hurt.   They set me up to expect something that wasn't there, and I took a star off for the lingering sense of disappointment.  

I'll know better.   (I bought some of these on Comixology when there was a Marvel-wide sale.   MAX titles are not available via MU, so I took that chance to get the MAX titles that interested me.   I originally regretted not picking up the Fantomex MAX titles, or even looking for them, but now?  I'm okay with that decision.   I may pick it up next time, however.)

Onto some Humble Bundle titles for now.  I'm enjoying some of the X-Files graphic novels, so I suspect I'll end up reading those.
