I'm a well read grad student who's bluntly honest about all things, although I try to be most honest about myself.
I know people don't keep track of my pet peeves - or I don't expect them too, and in fact, expect they don't - or my book-hates, but I hate Joe Kelly when he's writing Deadpool. I've said it multiple times, and I expect I'll say it again, especially if I keep reading this series, which is not the best Deadpool I've ever read.
And yet, it's far, far superior to how Kelly tried to cram him into being a hero. HERE, DEAPOOL, LET ME MAKE YOU SOMETHING YOUR NOT! DON'T CHOKE ON THIS BULLSHIT I'M FEEDING YOU, READERS!
Sorry for the yelling. I feel very strongly about Kelly and Deadpool. And yet... Spideypool. I love me some Spideypool. Whereas Kelly used to shy away from Wade hitting on men - because he was a manly man, and apparently had to prove that by going, 'hey, hey, dudes, I am so not into you!' - here he has some jokes where Wade shows his man-crush on Spidey.
It's almost funny in the way that Duggan and Wade's Deadpool are, but it isn't quite there. So I don't know if Kelly took a 'writing Deadpool' class, or it just suddenly clicked, or whatever, but take that class again. Or find another click. Because a liiiiittle more work and this would be perfect.
