I'm a well read grad student who's bluntly honest about all things, although I try to be most honest about myself.
And, no, I'm not actually reviewing something I've already read, although I do want to say something about each volume as I reread them for my buddy read with Jessica. And yes, I'm linking to her review of this volume.
That being said, there's a lot to love about this, a lot that's just plain funny, and then there's the darker aspects that call into question what a society and government can do to curb rebellion.
There's a lot to this, a lot, and it's not necessarily the strongest of Roberts' volumes. (I do believe this gets better and better as he hones his skills.) I do, however, know that this one hit an emotional spot that nothing else has really matched since. Or individual issues have, but there's something about how he leads up to this final reveal...
Oh, yeah, this may not be the best, but there's enough of a buildup to that final panel, that this has remained my favorite volume of this series.
