I'm a well read grad student who's bluntly honest about all things, although I try to be most honest about myself.
If they had to revert to Parker, then this was the best possible way to do it. I'd been warned before I first read it, I knew this was happening, but I'm still saddened to see this happen. Otto-as-Spider-Man was new, different, spoke to redemption in a way that Parker-as-Spider-Man never could, and in addition did something new, exciting, and different with the character.
How could I have ever doubted that Parker would come back, though? Parker is so iconic, so well known, well, yeah, they'd have to bring him back.
You'll be missed, Octavius. I'll miss you. I'll miss you most as Spider-Man to be honest. This series did so much with a twisted premise that just got more and more complicated and twisted.
It's bittersweet reading this volume, and I suspect it will always be bittersweet.
