Grimlock ♥ Ultra Magnus

I'm a well read grad student who's bluntly honest about all things, although I try to be most honest about myself.

Not a huge fan of Gary Seven...

Assignment: Earth (Star Trek) - John Byrne

Not only in this, but I recall not enjoying the Assignment Earth episode.   I'm so glad it didn't get turned into that spin-off after reading this graphic novel!

The art was brilliant, but the storyline itself felt like a watered down Doctor Who.   Isis, Seven's shape changing cat, was used more as an I Dream of Jeannie wish fulfillment fantasy than as a fully formed character who was useful throughout.   She had her uses, yes, but she wasn't a character developed well enough for me to feel any attachment to her, thus coming off as gimmicky.

So, I didn't like Seven, I didn't like his assistant, Roberta Lincoln, I didn't think this whole thing fit in all that well with the Star Trek universe, and I was overall just not very happy with this.   Onto the next comic, yes?
